Florencia Ravitti

I lead design end to end, from early discovery and finding out whether we're solving the right problem to following up a shipped product. I'm currently lead designer on the team that's shaping what's next for Mural. Before that I led the redesign of the sign-up flow that lifted conversions by 6% in one quarter, built a design thinking program that over 1,000 people went through, and co-founded an AI journaling app that's live on iOS.

I hold a Master's in Communication Design, and that background runs through everything I do; I believe design is ultimately an act of communication, where you need to ask the right questions first before trying to come up with answers.

Brown belt in judo. Dabbling in stand-up comedy. Will never miss a chance to pet a dog on the street, especially if it's not mine.

What is the question?

Most design work fails because it answers the wrong question. It's not worth spending resources on something that no one needs. I zoom out before I zoom in.

Good ideas don't respect org charts and can come from anywhere. That's why work needs to be transparent and cross-discipline.

Shipped beats perfect

It's a cliché because it's true. A sloppy-but-shipped product teaches you more than a thousand polished designs that live on a computer.

Think in systems, not screens

A single screen is easy to get right. The wicked problem is designing how everything connects; the way one decision ripples across the product.
